How to Save a Marriage
Are You Experiencing Problems in Your Marriage?
Whether you are having difficulties in your
relationship because of infidelity, poor communication, lack of trust or forgiveness, addiction,
resentment, money or other causes, the good news is that, with effort, these can be improved or overcome.
Learn how to save your marriage and restore harmony and affection in your home.
My name is Claire Jerome and I'd like to welcome you on this important journey to renewed
happiness in marriage.
I have been advising couples on how to save a marriage for the past 17 years and,
after many requests from couples wanting practical advice on how to overcome the difficulties
of married life, I set up this website. To ensure that the information you find here is well-balanced and
sound, I took the step of consulting with other colleagues, all highly-regarded relationship counsellors, for
their input into the articles listed here.
On these pages, you will find practical advice on many of the big issues facing couples in
their relationships. See the articles listed on the left for specific topics. Unfortunately, it’s impossible
to provide detailed advice on every problem, but hopefully there is enough information here to point you in
the right direction toward saving your marriage.
In addition to the informative articles, I have included suggestions for further
consideration. These include a FREE mini course (see bottom of page for full details) and my recommendations
for the best four marriage guidance courses available
online today. Having reviewed them in some depth, I am confident these courses will advise you how to save a
marriage - or any long-term union - and make it happier.

What Not to Do in Time of Trouble
Every marriage goes through rough patches and
occasionally it is impossible for couples to work through issues on their own. Sometimes, surprisingly, it
can be unhelpful to pour out your heart to family and friends. While their advice is usually well-meant, if
it is not completely impartial it can drive a deeper wedge between you and your spouse. In these cases, I
heartily recommend you find a good independent advisor to talk to, if you seriously want to resolve your
difficulties and cannot do so by yourselves.

Expectations in Marriage
All of us have expectations about what marriage will be like. We originally get our ideas from
watching how our parents interact and later on from TV, romantic movies and novels. Those concepts are what
we carry forward into our marriages, consciously or unconsciously. Rarely, however, do movies depict the
effort and time required to make a marriage work; instead they glorify the romantic feelings of love. If you
go into your marriage with unrealistic expectations, it can leave you disappointed and unhappy once the
honeymoon period has passed.
Even if you don’t live under these misconceptions, you can still have periods of unhappiness
in your marriage. To go forward, what is required is commitment. Successful marriages are not founded on
‘luck of the draw’, but on a concerted effort to get to know one another, communicate with one another and,
ultimately, to value your spouse as a friend and companion.
Advice on How to Save a
Marriage
My aim is to provide couples with solid information and advice on marital problems so they can
forge ahead with renewed vigour, determined to overcome the obstacles in their way and so arrive at a state
of mutual happiness and trust. I will continue to add articles to this website over time in order to offer as
comprehensive advice as possible on how to save a marriage, within the limitations of the medium.
To help you further, I have reviewed many downloadable marriage guidance courses presently
available on the internet and have listed the top four (in my opinion) for you to consider. I believe these
represent the best courses in terms of effectiveness and value for money. They provide excellent advice and
suggestions on how to save a marriage and give the tools needed to reignite the flame of love.
